This applies ONLY the chest straps on the affected carriers. Free replacement chest straps will be issued to anyone who has an affected carrier.

If you own an Action Baby Carrier, please check the chest strap.

To know if you have a strap that needs replacing, check where the chest strap loops around the shoulder strap. If the strap is secured with a single line of stitching rather then a double line, please contact your retailer or info@slingjax.co.uk immediately for a replacement strap.

.... at the Baby Show in Earls Court, London! It was fab meeting so many of you who had come to the show especially to meet us. Many new parents left the Sling Jax stand with one or more slings, in fact some left actually wearing their new baby sling! We were all exhausted by the end of the exhibition on Sunday but can't wait to do it again next year!!

Well I was just speechless when I opened the box to find these lovely new 100% cotton Girasol Wraps. Handwoven in Guatemala, these wraps are made under fair trade conditions. They are in stock at Sling Jax for a limited time only and are available in four lengths from 2.6m to 5.2m. they are so soft straight out of the box, but after one wash they are SUPER soft and still brilliantly supportive.

As part of the fun and games at the Summer Sling Show , we ran a FREE Prize Draw. Well the names were all put into a hat (or rather a cerial box since we had no hat at hand) and the winner was picked out. I notified the lucky winner, Hannah-Jane of London, and asked her to choose her prize - any carrier from the Sling Jax shop! I will post here when I have heard back from them :)

Ooh we have just received a shipment of lovely Yamo SSC's. There was a bit of a scrum when the box was opened to see who would get to wear the baby in one first. These come with their own carry bag which can be clipped to the carrier when in use. Now those who know me know that I am not usually a buckles and clips sort of chick, but I found the Yamo to be pretty easy to use and baby Jax fit into it like a hand in a glove... luverly! What is a Mei Tai?

A mei tai is a baby carrier (soft carrier) worn on two shoulders. It is usually made of a square of fabric with four long straps. Just as people come in all shapes and sizes, so there are many different types of mei tai. Some have padded straps, some have padded bodies. Some have headrests and some have adjustable seats. There are many, many different combinations of features and no single mei tai will suit everyone. However, Sling Jax has a wide selection of mei tais available for hire. The hire period is two weeks (although you can have the carrier for longer by arrangement). While the blog was lost I started a business. Well it wasn't as simple as that but here are the details...

Its called Sling Jax (named after the baby). I sell all manner of baby slings and am based in the UK. There is also a hire shop where parents and carers can try out a sling or two before buying.

I was waiting at Bond Street station when a lady asked me if she could use my mobile phone to call her son. Without hesitation I agreed and handed over my phone. It seems that the lady was waiting for her son to collect her and was having difficulty using the public payphones (none were working). She was so grateful that I had lent her my phone that she tried to give me some money. When I refused she burst into tears saying she had asked a few people to help her and they had point blank refused.

I guess people have heard too many horror stories and now they are distrustful of strangers ... I am glad I was able to do some small thing to help a lady in need.
